Gladiators

The clash and blow of weapons, surrounded by the blast of trumpets and booming of drums... yes, with full glory gladiators enter the arena. Reverberating is the cry on their lips, "Hail Emperor! Those who are about to die salute you!" Caesar gives the signal - it is time for the Games to begin... Who could fail to feel the emotions of Roman citizens, when 'people of the sword' fought for life and death, especially for their personal entertainment. Into the arena entered both slaves fighting in order to survive and also those, who although not forced to fight, did so for glory and honour.


Now it is possible for you to feel the thrill of the emotion, as before your very eyes ancient warriors come close. Fighting with the assistance of trident and net, dagger and gladius, saw-edged knife and spear, the 'Munera' continue. Suddenly into the arena charge gladiators on horseback and from a horse-drawn chariot a gladiator lets loose arrows and hurls javelins. The fervent fight continues with the final decision in the hands of the god Caesar. The thumb lifted up a sign of grace and mercy or down settling the loss of the defeated.


Now you too can watch from the stands of the arena and decide the fate of heroic gladiators in combat for your pleasure. You, yourself, can take part in the role of a gladiator, or even become a lanista - an instructor in the Gladiator school.
